Pointing

This is one of the most common types of repair work to be carried out by the stonemason and also the most likely to be executed incorrectly. We have seen countless examples of re-pointing with a Portland cement rich mortar which has resulted in irreparable damage to surface of the stone.

All our pointing work is carried out using natural hydraulic lime products which allow masonry to dry out without damaging the stone itself.

We are skilled in colour texture matching historic pointing mixes to create a sharp finish that is sympathetic to the integrity of the masonry.
